Guido was a graduate of the the University
of Santa Clara. A big hard throwing right handed pitcher,
as well as a bruising fullback and punter on the gridiron.
Like many athletes of that era, baseball was the only avenue
to pursue professionally. Guidos's true stardom was as a
Punter, for which he is so honored in his almamater's(University of Santa Clara) athlete
Hall of fame.
In 1927 Guido had a photo opportunity
of a lifetime. Babe Ruth visited Santa Clara and posed with
the young collegian athlete.
Guido never made it to the Major League.
After a couple of seasons in the PCL he took a job with MJB
Coffee and pitched for the company semipro team. His professional
experienced helped his team win the California State League
title in 1934.
